Serena & Lily’s Sausalito Basket Review

Have you folks seen Serena & Lily’s Sausalito Basket? It’s Gorgeous (with a capital “G”).

The Sausalito Basket is modern take on a Moses basket, boasting classic detailing that gives it heirloom quality. ,I found myself impressed by the significance of its size, when I first saw it in person.Of course the dimensions are listed online (32”L x 18”D x 12”H), but as someone who’s not very good at mentally envisioning measurements, I pulled the basket out of the box in awe. It boasts a super sturdy structure and weighs a substantial amount—not so much that it can’t be easily lifted, but enough that it doesn’t feel the least bit flimsy.
The braided handles are a delightful detail that make transporting the basket from room to room a breeze. (We’re forever moving our little one’s sleep space from our home office to our great room and occasionally bring it with us to Grandma’s too.) The little red bows that secure the padding around the perimeter are a charming touch. There’s even the option of having the basket monogrammed with a single initial for an affordable $12 fee. I love the idea of having it boast the first letter of our last name so all our future babies can enjoy the cozy bed.
We’ve enjoyed using the basket for baby’s catnaps when we want him close to us instead of upstairs in the nursery. It’s also gorgeous for photo ops! When our tiny guy (or our future children) outgrows the basket, we plan to extend its lifespan by using it to store stuffed animals and toys in the playroom.
A few more things to note about the Sausalito Basket:

  • It’s recommended for babies ages 0 to 4 months.
  • The bumper and sheet and machine washable; the basket and mattress are spot clean only.
  • Extra sheets are available for $28 each.
