The germ-free cool moisture humidifier is truly a life-saver

Currently, my husband and I live in the great state of Colorado.

It’s a beautiful place, but the weather here is a little different than it is in the humid climates where we grew up. I can honestly say I don’t miss the hot, sticky humidity that made the air feel stagnant and my hair perpetually flat, but I do miss having effortlessly moisturized skin. After a year of living in the dry air, we’ve gone through more lotion than either of us would have dreamed of purchasing in a lifetime, and I think I’m getting eye-wrinkles. To make matters worse, I’m currently ushering in cold and flu season with a horrendous dry throat and itchy, raw nose. Lucky for me, Vicks came along with their Cool Moisture V3900 humidifier before I completely shriveled into a raisin.
Their germ-free cool moisture humidifier is truly a life-saver. Unlike warm-air humidifiers which, I think, can be a tad on the stuffy side, the cool air is refreshingly easy to breathe in. This particular model is also compatible with Vicks VapoPads, which provide light, soothing scents for up to 8 hours. (Their sleepytime lavender and rosemary scent is lovely, but I have to mention that the original menthol scent is amazingly soothing when you’re feeling a tad under the weather!)
Best of all, this machine is ultra easy to use: just fill the water tank, plug-in and you’re good to go. I appreciate that it’s small enough to fit neatly on a shelf or night stand, and quiet enough to leave on in the bedroom while we sleep. And I really, really appreciate how clean it is: ultraviolet light kills up to 99.9% of bacteria, germs, fungus and viruses, so I don’t have to worry about it spreading anything icky into the air we breathe.
After just a few days of using the Cool Moisture humidifier my dry throat is becoming less of a problem, and I’m hoping that after a couple of weeks my skin will soak up enough moisture to kiss those eye-wrinkles bye-bye, too! It’s going to be a good winter.
